Combining gems for enchanting is also important as you want sockets on your amulets and rings. RoRGs and SoJs don’t come with sockets ready. You’d need specific gems, mostly Flawless Imperial Topazes or Rubies to keep enchanting for that socket. Diablo 3 RoS Patch 2.1 just made gems more important than ever.
