WoW: Garrison’s Large Buildings Guide (1)

Here, we will talk about what you can do for your Garrison on Beta tests. You will build your Barracks as your first large building, and you will be able to replace it once you learn the other blueprints and once you level up your Garrison.

Barracks
This building will give you more missions, more followers capacity and Draenor bodyguards. The blueprint is received by questing and is one of the first blueprints you’ll learn.
•Level 1: Unlocks patrol missions. Patrol missions have higher than normal follower experience rewards.
•Level 2: Allows a follower with the bodyguard trait to accompany you as a guardian in Draenor zones.
•Level 3: Increases your follower limit by 5 and grants access to racial guards and banners.

The level one perk is pretty clear. Once you build the barracks patrol missions are going to be available for you rewarding you with higher follower experience. The Call to Arms ability becomes available as well. When using it you’ll call a couple of NPCs to help you and aim their fire to a specific spot. That ability can be used only on Draenor and it doesn’t work in any instance.
Now the perk you are getting at level 2 allows you to have a guardian while playing in Draenor (except instances). This guardian is any of your followers with Bodyguard ability. There are about 7 followers with that ability at the moment and the interesting thing about them is that if you are choosing one of them to follow you, while killing monsters and questing with him, his reputation (affection) will increase as well. There is a max of 3 levels for each bodyguard (10.000 points each) and with every level the bodyguard can use new abilities.
